It’s my absolute pleasure to welcome to CBTB today Pierre Lemaitre, the author behind arguably my favorite psychological thriller, BLOOD WEDDING, and the brand-new THREE DAYS AND A LIFE, which releases from Quercus today, 11/7/17! This is truly one of the most thoughtful Q&A’s I’ve had the pleasure of hosting on Crime by the Book, and I hope you will enjoy reading it as much I have enjoyed putting it together! Many thanks to Pierre for taking the time to answer my questions so thoughtfully, and to the publisher for facilitating this Q&A.

I've only recently begun to explore crime fiction short stories in earnest, so when the offer came around to participate in the blog tour for the newest CWA Anthology of Short Stories, I knew I had to jump at the chance! This fantastic short story collection is published by Orenda Books, and has a “Mystery Tour” theme, which means it highlights crime writers from around the world, writing stories set in countries from across the globe. I love to travel and I (clearly!) love crime fiction, so I couldn’t imagine a better theme for an anthology. I'm delighted to share my stop on the CWA Anthology of Short Stories blog tour today!

When I saw his fantastic praise quote for German crime novel FEAR by Dirk Kurbjuweit (on sale this week - 10/3/17), I knew right away this was a book I had to read—and I am so glad that I listened to that instinct. Thanks to Kurbjuweit’s US publisher, I had the opportunity to ask a few of my most pressing questions of the author of FEAR, which will surely be one of the smartest and most unsettling books I’ll read this year.

I’m thrilled to welcome crime writer Gilly Macmillan to the blog today for a “Meet the Author” Q&A! Gilly’s 2016 psychological suspense novel THE PERFECT GIRL was an instant-hit for me, and to make things even better, she has a new book out this coming Tuesday: ODD CHILD OUT (10/3/17)! In this author interview, Gilly shares insight into the path that led her to become a crime writer, the sources of inspiration for her novels, what her writing routine looks like, and a whole lot more. Many thanks to Gilly for answering my questions so thoughtfully - her responses are absolutely fantastic, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading them as much as I have!
