Recommended August 2018 Releases

December 1, 2018

It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to an end! I, for one, am so excited about the encroaching autumn - can you say perfect mystery reading weather?! But before summer comes to an end, there’s still time to grab a few end-of-summer (and totally fantastic) reads. My August recommendations list has a whole variety of new crime fiction for your consideration: from claustrophobic Icelandic crime fiction to a modern spin on the police procedural to binge-worthy “popcorn reads.” There are some genuinely unique and very exciting new reads to add to your TBR this month, and I'm so excited to share this list with you today!

How is it already August?! This summer is absolutely flying by - but it's brought with it some fantastic new crime novels, so I'm far from complaining! July was a stellar month for new releases. From new-to-me authors (like Lucy Atkins) to old favorites (like Riley Sager), my reading list was dominated by really stellar reads this month—and I'm so excited to share my picks for Recommended July Releases with you today!

Recommended June 2018 Releases

December 1, 2018

June has brought with it some outstanding new crime fiction releases! Whether you’re in the market for a dark and twisted psychological thriller, a suspense novel exploring the pressures of motherhood, or an immersive and atmospheric police procedural, there’s a little something for everyone on sale this month. Along with my four picks for June Recommended Releases, I’m also including a roundup at the bottom of this post highlighting three new June releases I haven’t had a chance to read yet, but which I’m hoping to get to sooner or later! (Because the saying "so many books, so little time" is way too real.) Happy reading!

Recommended May 2018 Releases

June 14, 2018

Spring is officially here, folks, and this is great news for us crime readers—because it means a number of really fantastic new releases are upon us, too! This May saw the release of one of my most-anticipated reads of the year (hint: the new Ruth Ware!!), a fantastic serial killer thriller, the paperback reprint of a 2017 release I loved, and more. We’re definitely in the swing of “beach reading” now - even if the weather here hasn’t exactly been beach-friendly just yet! I’m so excited about the books in today’s Recommended Releases post, so let’s dive right in.

Recommended April 2018 Releases

June 14, 2018

2018 has been a great year for crime fiction so far, but April 2018 is notably slower than its predecessors. Try as I might to find another book or two to add to this list, my April new release recommendations are few and far between - though that shouldn’t at all detract from your enthusiasm from the books that are included in this post. This month saw the release of my most-anticipated read of 2018, and the US paperback launch of a book that has already sold over a million copies worldwide - both books deserving of a trip to your local bookstore or library!
